2019 Mercedes Sprinter: NOx Sensor Replaced and Blocked DPF Cleaned
A 2019 Mercedes Sprinter had been suffering ongoing AdBlue and DPF problems, and the customer contacted Autobahn directly after struggling with them. The AdBlue (SCR) side of the fault involved the NOx sensor, which was replaced, and the blocked diesel particulate filter was professionally cleaned. Afterwards the DPF was regenerating normally again and the van was back operating as it should.

A NOx sensor measures nitrogen oxides in the exhaust. The engine management uses its readings to control AdBlue dosing and to check that the SCR system is working, so a failed sensor usually logs an emissions fault, which is often how AdBlue warnings begin.
The DPF is a separate component, but the same engine management runs both systems, and on many vans an active emissions fault affects how the DPF is managed. When AdBlue and DPF problems appear together, both systems need checking. Dealing with only one can leave the other still causing trouble.
